County Committee Rejects Mountain Springs Application

In a four-to-nothing vote this week, the Agriculture Advisory Committee of Tuolumne County rejected an application from developers of the Mountain Springs Community.

Tuolumne County Agriculture Commissioner Gary Caseri says the proposal was rejected because the development was too close to high-value and specialty ag land.

“It had to do with conversion of ag lands, and impacts to adjacent ag lands. And they pretty much did that by following the policies that are outlined in the General Plan with regards to the agricultural resources element,” says Caseri.

Caseri says the committee uses the General Plan as a guide in deciding whether to approve or reject projects.

Mountain Springs can bring a revised proposal to the Ag Advisory Committee. There´s no word on what changes might be made by the developers.
