A man from San Francisco died Sunday after suffering an electric shock while climbing a power pole near Yosemite Valley.
It´s not known why 27-year-old Jay Mucchala was climbing the pole.
Park officials say Mucchala was a mile into a hike along the Four-Mile Trail on Sunday afternoon.
He reportedly fell from as high as 40 feet up.
Emergency medical personnel were unable to revive Mucchala, who became the third fatality in Yosemite National Park so far this year.
