Fire destroyed a home Saturday in the 6000 block of Hawver Ranch Road just east of San Andreas, in the Mokelumne Hill area.
California Department of Forestry dispatchers reports the fire started just before 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon and burned an acre of land as well.
Residents were home at the time, but no one was injured. The cause of the blaze according to officals — children playing with fire. Damage estimates is set at $75,000.
