Power Restored, Investigation Underway In Jamestown

The lights are back on this afternoon in the Jamestown area, after an excavator accidentally cut a power line.

PG&E officials say 2756 customers were originally without power after the machine brought down a power line at the Old Jamestown Landfill around 11:30 this morning.

PG&E is investigating the incident.

Electricity was restored just after 3:30pm, according to spokeswoman Emily Barnett from PG&E.

The incident also caused a small fire in the landfill, but people on the scene had the fire mostly under control by the time firefighters arrived.
