CHP Seeking Information Regarding Officer’s Death

Jamestown, CA — The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public´s help in gathering information connected with a fatal rollover accident that took the life of a CHP officer yesterday.

CHP says 35-year-old Officer Eric Manny informed dispatch shortly after 11 a.m. that he was pursuing a vehicle he had observed traveling on Interstate 5 at a high rate of speed.

A report indicates that a call came in moments later reporting an overturned CHP cruiser about two miles south of the Grapevine exit. Responding officers found the car on its side and Manny dead at the scene.

Tom Wills of the Jamestown CHP is asking any local residents who may have been traveling in that area at about 11:00 a.m. to contact his office.

Manny leaves behind a wife and two children, ages 8 and 11.
