Fire Scorches Angels Farmland

Angels Camp, CA — An escaped debris burn is being blamed for an afternoon fire Friday.

At around 1:30 p.m. crews from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and local agencies responded to a farm fire on Highway 49 near Angels Camp.

The fire was contained to 20 acres and extinguished within an hour.

According to a fire report, the cause was a debris burn. Damage for the loss of grassland is estimated at $4,000.
