Calaveras County Sheriffs Investigate San Andreas Bank Robbery

San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County Sheriff´s Deputies are investigating a bank robbery in San Andreas yesterday.

The Sheriff´s Department was called just before 4:00 to the Central State Credit Union on St. Charles Street.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a heavy set, possibly hispanic male between 6´0″ and 6´4″ tall with dark hair, a thick mustache and unshaven face. He was reportedly wearing a grey shirt with a white undershirt, blue jeans and a white ball cap.

Deputies say the man walked a short distance on foot before leaving the area in a white four-door sedan.

Investigators have not released any information as to whether yesterday´s robbery is linked to a similar incident at the World Savings Bank in Sonora less than a week ago.
