Fire Crews Battle 80 Acre Blaze Near Greeley Hill

Greeley Hill, CA — CDF is investigating the cause of a fire that burned about 80 acres near Greeley Hill in Northern Mariposa County over the weekend.

CDF says the blaze started at about 1:00 Saturday afternoon near Converse Valley and Vista Roads about 60 miles east of Modesto.

California Highway Patrol officers along with Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Deputies assisted in the evacuation of several residents in the Smith Station Road area as the fire spread.

CDF says the fire was brought under containment yesterday. A total of 29 engines, three helicopters and 294 fire fighters were dispatched to the blaze.

Investigators say no structures were burned and there were no injuries.
