Sonora Man Arrested On Explosives And Drug Charges

San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County Sheriffs have a Sonora man in custody on weapons charges after a routine traffic stop late Monday night.

Investigators say 25-year-old Joshua Wagstaff was pulled over on Highway 49 in Mokelumne Hill near the Amador County line just after 11:00.

Officers discovered that Wagstaff had a warrant out for his arrest and he was driving on a suspended license.

A report indicates that a search of the vehicle turned up two explosive devices in the trunk.

Drugs and associated paraphernalia were also reportedly located in the vehicle.

Wagstaff was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of possession explosives, possession and transportation of drugs and driving on a suspended license.

His bail was set at $160,000.
