Tourism Industry Honors Its Volunteers

Sonora, CA — Several people were recognized at the annual Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau Awards and Installation Dinner on Thursday in Twain Harte.

Members and Bureau supporters gathered at the Lazy Z resort for the installation of the new officers and Board of Directors and to also recognize exceptional contributions by volunteers and tourism industry partners.

Special recognition went to Tuolumne County Film Commissioner Jerry Day, who also received the “2005 President´s Award” for his work in attracting film production, which in turn, assists in the Bureau´s efforts to attract new visitors.

Tom Bender with Columbia City Hotel received the “2005 Hospitality Award” for his support in Hosting the many travel writers and tour operators who toured the county in the past year.

Several plaques of appreciation also went to outgoing Directors.
