Calaveras County Jury Convicts West Point Man In Bombing Incident

San Andreas, CA — A West Point man has been convicted of two felony counts in connection with a pipe bombing which damaged a store and an elementary school in Rail Road Flat three years ago.

34-year-old Roger Gibbings was found guilty by a superior court jury Friday. Gibbings could get as many as seven years behind bars when he returns to court for sentencing August 23rd.

The jury deliberated for three hours before coming up with the guilty decision. A second man involved in the incident is serving an eight year sentence in state prison for his role in the explosions and on a burglary conviction.
