Calaveras County emergency food and shelter program gets funds

Calaveras County has been chosen to receive $23,960. to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.

A Local Board made up of churches, non-profit agencies, The Salvation Army, and government representatives will determine how the funds awarded to Calaveras County are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area. The Local Board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds and any additional funds available under this phase of the program.

Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds can contact Terri Beaudreau at Calaveras Works and Human Services Agency at (209) 754-6445 if they have questions about submitting a proposal. The deadline for receipt of proposals is Tuesday, February 1, 2005.
