Beardslee Executed

Inmate Donald Beardslee was executed by lethal injection at Northern California´s San Quentin State Prison this morning.

Beardslee was put to death at 12:29. He is the 11th prisoner in California to face the ultimate punishment since the state reinstated the death penalty in 1978. Beardslee was convicted of killing a 19 year old woman and a 23 year old woman in 1981. The Supreme Court denied claims by Beardslee´s attorneys that death by lethal injection was cruel and unusual punishment.
