Central Valley Economy Behind California

A new report says the Central Valley´s economy is behind the rest of the state, in spite of a booming housing market and growth in agriculture.

The nonprofit research group Great Valley Center says its study has found that unemployment in the valley is still the highest in the state. Income in the region is among the lowest in the nation. The study urges action on several fronts — job creation and the more affordable housing.
