Details Released in Wednesday’s Carson Hill Wreck

Three people went to Mark Twain Hospital for their injuries following that solo vehicle crash Wednesday night at Highway 49 and Carson Hill Road.

17-year-old Anthony Pascual of Copperopolis was driving his 93 Honda Accord southbound when he hydroplaned on the wet highway. The car slid off the roadway and went over the steep embankment, near the Carson Hill Rock Quarry, and hit several trees and large rocks, according to the CHP.

Pascual suffered pain to the leg. His passenger, 18-year-old Michael Jeros of Arnold suffered pain to the chest, and the other passenger, 16-year-old Stephen Pascual, suffered several bad lacerations to the face.

Officials say the cause was unsafe speed for existing weather conditions and they recommend slowing down and proper vehicle maintainence to avoid accidents like this.
