Motorists traveling on Hwy 1 through Big Sur should be prepared to pay a pretty penny for gasoline.
A gallon of regular, unleaded gas at a station in Gorda is going for $3.79 a gallon. The manager of the AmeriCo gas station says because his shop´s remote location forces him to charge the high prices. Meanwhile, the statewide average for a regular gallon of unleaded gas is going for $2.51.
