San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is proposing new regulations for the city´s 43 medical marijuana clubs.
The proposal prohibits operations within a thousand feet from schools and playgrounds, and demands minimum security and ventilation.
The measure also requires that the city operate under a nonprofit status.
Also, proposed new clubs would be required to notify neighbors, and the Planning Department would have to approve of them.
