Calaveras County Supervisors Approve Valley Springs Development

San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County officials are expressing concern over the rapid growth of housing in Valley Springs.

The board unanimously approved an 83-lot subdivision on 40 acres near Hogan Dam Road and Vista Del Lago Drive yesterday, but not without reservation.

Supervisor Steve Wilensky said the county needs to look more closely at such projects as the boom in affordable housing continues.

Several area residents opposed the project, saying it would have a detrimental impact on traffic in the area.

As part of the plan, the developer will be required to install a traffic light at the intersection of Vista Del Lago Drive and Highway 26, and pay into a fund to fix other road problems in Valley Springs.
