Murder Suspects Face Additional Charges

San Andreas, CA — Two Valley Springs men accused of first degree murder in Calaveras County Superior Court are now facing additional charges related to the death of a Mokelumne Hill man.

The District Attorney´s office says 21-year-old Donald Pinon and 20-year-old Daniel Rocha are now charged with gun-use and gang involvement counts that could increase their sentences if convicted.

The D-A says Rocha has a prior felony conviction of assault with a deadly weapon which could be considered a strike under the state´s three-strikes law.

Rocha and Pinon are being held in the shooting death of 19-year-old David Jessop last March. Rocha is also accused of trying to bribe a correctional officer.

The men are scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges today.
