Mammoth Ski Resort To Remain Open Until July 4th

Mammoth Lakes, CA — As most local residents are packing up swimsuits and camping gear for summer activities, Mammoth Mountain resort has some news that will make diehard snow skiers very happy.

Mammoth operators say the mountain still has a six to eight foot snow base and spring skiing conditions are in effect.

Mammoth Marketing Director Joanie Lynch says the fourth of July is a favorite time of year for many. She says the Independence Day holiday is one of the resort´s busiest holidays and the added attraction of summer skiing is expected to add to the masses.

Lynch says the snow at the ski area is the deepest its been in more than ten years. Camping areas and fishing waters are also open.

Those wishing to spend their Fourth of July weekend will have to use either Sonora or Ebbetts pass, as Tioga pass remains closed.
