San Francisco, CA — Ever wonder what utilities pay in the way of taxes every year?
Overall P.G.& E. made Monday payments of nearly $97 million to the 49 counties in which it operates in California. Tuolumne County will receive $396,000 in tax revenue from P.G.& E. while Calaveras County will bank $350,000.
The company´s tax payments to counties increased by more than $5.2 million over the last property tax payments made April 10, 2006. This is the result of an increase in assessments due to P.G.& E.´s plant investments and an overall increase in tax rates.
The next property tax payment will be due April 10, 2007.
