Planning Commission O.K.’s Cherry Valley Golf Club Project

Sonora, CA — As expected the Tuolumne County Planning Commission Wednesday evening approved a plan submitted by the Me-Wuk Indians to build the 18 hole Cherry Valley Golf Club.

Director Bev Shane says alterations will have to be made in the general plan and the zoning for the 211 acre project because in laying out the 18 hole golf course, the Me-Wuks are changing what was to have been residential property to commercial-recreational property.

The Commission has approved of those potential changes. The matter will now go before the Board of Supervisors next Tuesday.
