Election Countdown: Measure A

San Andreas, CA — The November 7 General Election is less than two weeks away and there are many local races in Calaveras County to get familiar with.

Besides a supervisorial election, there are school board races and a school bond measure on the ballot. Visit MyMotherLode.Com every weekday leading up to the election to learn more about these races.

Today´s installment will discuss Measure A, the Calaveras Unified School District Special Bond.

The $13.5 million dollar bond would pay for school improvements such as new classrooms, better computer technology and new fire alarms.

To pass, the measure must be approved by 55 percent of the voters.

The cost to taxpayers is estimated at $20 per $100,000 of assessed home value.

No argument against the measure was submitted.
