Citizens For Responsible Growth Vs. Sonora And California Gold

Sonora, CA — Despite a defeat in Judge James A. Boscoe´s August courtroom, Lisa Vaughn and the Citizens For Responsible Growth are ready for another round in their continuing dispute with the City of Sonora and California Gold regarding the Lowe´s Home Improvement Center project.

Based on environmental concerns, Vaughn´s group has now appealed Judge Boscoe´s decision. She says the case should be reviewed by three appeal court judges in Fresno by December or January.

Vaughn adds that her group is not anti the so called “big box” stores, just the Lowe´s project because it is believed that the city has not met all C.E.Q.A. (California Environmental Quality Act) requirements for the proposed project.

Vaughn stated that should the appeals court find in favor of the city and California Gold, her group will step aside and pursue no futher legal action.
