Citizens For Responsible Growth Appeal Lowe’s Decision

Sonora, CA– The Lowe´s Home Improvement project in Sonora has been hit by an appeal by the Citizens For Responsible Growth.

Although Judge James A. Boscoe´s August 21st decision found in favor of the City of Sonora and the developer, California Gold Corporation, Lisa Vaughn´s group continues to base its case on environmental issues.

Judge Boscoe stated in his decision that the petitioner has failed to show either that the city committed a prejudicial abuse of discretion or failed to comply with Sonora Municipal Code Chapter 17.42.

California Gold´s Scot Patterson says his group is doing everything it can to begin construction which includes obtaining city permits in its continuing effort to break ground.

Patterson, although disappointed, says California Gold will continue to push to have a Lowe´s located on the west side of Old Ward´s Ferry Rd. south of Sanguinetti Rd. Vaughn was unavailable for comment.
