Habitat for Humanity Builds Fifth Home

Tuolumne, CA– Habitat for Humanity has done it again.

Saturday was the official groundbreaking ceremony and now building a home could be the only thought on the chosen applicant Denise McKenzie´s mind. McKenzie, her daughters, and skilled volunteers will be working hard to turn the concrete foundation on Canyon View Drive in Ponderosa Hills, into a cozy home.

This will be the fifth home Habitat for Humanity will build in Tuolumne County for families that have applied to become home owners. McKenzie says she feels very fortunate to be chosen out of all of those applicants and that this project means a lot to her.

President of the Tuolumne County Habitat for Humanity David Bowls says the groups´ hopes are to complete the home in nine months, but that will depend on the amount of volunteers.

Anyone interested in helping out the cause can contact Betsy Harden at the Habitat for Humanities office on Stewart Street.
