Two Yosemite Fires Totally Contained

Yosemite National Park, CA — The Boundary and Middle T fires have been totally contained.

That´s the official Monday morning announcement from Fire Information Officer Deb Schweizer.

The Boundary fire started one week ago today due to an out-of-control afternoon campfire. 536 acres were burned.

Also fully contained is the Middle T fire which was ignited by lightning July 20. This fire was allowed to burn for ecological reasons until late last week when park officials decided to surpress the fire due to increasing amounts of smoke. Total acreage burned amounted to 591.
