San Andreas CHP Implements New Speed Detector

San Andreas, CA– Those who think getting away with speeding is an easy task need to think again.

Highway Patrol Commander Lieutenant Jerry Pelfanio of San Andreas says a new tool that uses laser technology to determine the speed of a vehicle has been set up in the San Andreas area.

The new gadget is called LIDAR, which stands for light, distance, and ranging. Officials say the new tool will be beneficial because LIDAR has a pin-point accuracy that makes it possible for an officer to use a sighting scope to point the instrument at any specific vehicle and determine its speed.

Although the new technology resembles a gun, Public Affairs Officer Mike Maddox says it is completely harmless.
