4 Acre Blaze Near Calaveritas Thursday

San Andreas, CA — The smell of fire is still fresh in the air from a four-acre blaze near the town of Calaveritas Thursday.

There were actually two fires that started around 2:30 p.m., one at the intersection of Calaveritas and Old Gulch roads and one closer to San Andreas on Calaveritas Road.

Each blaze was estimated at about two acres.

Crews had the fires contained and extinguished by close to 11 p.m.

A total of four acres of grass and one acre of brush were burned.

The cause has not been determined.
