Calaveras County OKs Park Rezoning

West Point, CA — Sandy Gulch Regional Park in Wilseyville is yet another step closer to fruition.

The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Monday approved rezoning a portion of the Calaveras County Water District´s West Point Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The park would take up 20 acres of the 150-acre plant.

The next step is working out a lease between the county and water district.

Park proponent Pat McGreevy says once a lease is secured, he will look to the state for the needed $250,000 in park improvements.
