WILLIAMS, NEIL WAYNE

Neil  “Papa”Wayne (Hoffman) Williams passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12th at his home in Mi Wuk Village.    Neil was born in Brawley, CA  to Miles and Vivian Hoffman.  In 1945, he was adopted by his stepfather, William L. Williams.  In 1955, he went to work for P G & E in the electric department.  He took time off to serve in the Marines and Reserves from 1957-1962.  After his active duty, he returned to work for PG&E until his retirement in 1993.  Neil Married Arleen Leal Gilbert in 1980.  In 1985 they moved permanently to their home in Mi Wuk Village from Cupertino.  He affectionately became known ad “Papa” by the many friends he made along the way while riding his Harley Davidson.  Neil was a life member of the San Jose Dons Motorcycle Club and the American Motorcycle Association.  He was a charter member of the Jamestown Harley Owners Group, a member of the local AMA chapter and the Ridge Hogs of Sonora.  Neil was a member of Sons in Retirement branch #136, Native Sons Chispa Parlor 139 chapter in Murphy’s and a Master Mason in Friendship Lodge #210 San Jose.  Neil was an avid bowler, participating in leagues, local, state and national tournaments.  He is survived by his loving wife, Arleen Williams; his children, Mike (Barbara) Williams, DaNeille (Mark) Fitzgibbon, Phillip (Linda) Gilbert, Anna (Dustin Driggs) Gilbert; his nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; sister, Sandra Kawashima, and brother, Lewis Williams.  Heuton Memorial Chapel are handling the arrangements.
