Heat Takes A Toll On Milk Production

Sonora,CA — The hot weather is no longer just a bother, but a real problem.

Officials say due to the heat, cows are producing less milk because they do not want to battle the sun in the pasture. With cows eating less, they are producing a reduced amount of milk.

Officials also claim the stress of the heat is another problem for milk production. Other production groups are saying that the heat can also affect their crops if it does not start to cool down. Unfortunately reports say the heat is not expected to go away anytime soon.
