Tuolumne County Announces Initial T.G.H. Reorganization Plan

Sonora, CA — By a 4-0 vote Tuolumne County Supervisors today approved the county´s initial reorganization plan for Tuolumne General Hospital.

The plan calls for one individual to serve as Chief Medical Officer/Chief Operating Officer. The county is hopeful that the hospital´s current medical director, Dr. Jack McCue, will accept that position at an annual salary of $225,000.

Randy Pirtle, who has served as the director of outpatient clinical services, will have his position eliminated.

In addition to a dental director´s position being created, county staff is recommending that outgoing Chief Financial Officer Suzanne Hebert be replaced by a contract interim C.F.O. for the next one to two years.

Still another recommendation will see Director of Home Health Nursing Sara Herrin take over responsibility for the Adult Day Health Care unit.

County Administrator Craig Pedro is estimating the county will save $93,794 per year in salary alone with the restructuring. In total compensation, Pedro predicts the county will save $139,248 per annum.

The implementation of the restructuring is scheduled for July 31, 2006. Pedro adds that additional changes will be made.
