Hunter Safety Classes Offered

San Andreas, CA — Hunter education is required to obtain a new hunting license in California. Being offered now at the San Andreas Senior Center is a one-day class that will meet that requirement.

The class comes with a certificate of completion, which is required for new hunters who have not previously had a hunting license.

The class teaches firearms safety and handling, sportsmanship and ethics, wildlife management and conservation, archery, black powder, wildlife identification, game care, first aid and survival.

Those interested in taking the class must pre-register 5 days prior to the class by calling Charlene Winkler at (209) 754-4755. A mandatory education book is also required.

The class is from 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm. July 16 at the Senior Center on Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas.
