Hogan Fire Contained

New Hogan Reservoir, CA — A 194-acre blaze at New Hogan Reservoir is now contained.

The fire broke out late Monday afternoon on the south shore of Hogan Reservoir near the Whiskey Creek Campground.

The cause is still being investigated.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention Battalion Chief Chris Jensen says the fire was contained at 9 p.m.

There were a couple of outbuildings that were destroyed.

Jensen says a full-blown air attack was used to fight the blaze including 4 air tankers, and a helicopter. Also used were 3 bull dozers, 4 water tenders, 10 engines, and 5 hand crews. Mop up is ongoing.

Jensen says the fire was not related to the fireworks that were held at the reservoir over the weekend.
