Another Local Wins Frog Jump

Angels Camp, CA — For the second year in a row someone from Calaveras County has won the Calaveras County Frog Jumps.

Mike Nash of Angels Camp won this year´s competition Sunday with a jump of 19 feet and 7 ¾ inches.

Last year´s winner was Joe Kitchell of Angels Camp with a jump of 19 feet, 4 inches.

Both men are members of the local team, the Calaveras Frog Jockies.

55 people competed Sunday in the frog jump finals at the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.

Nash´s frog, Claussen´s Cruzor, had a qualifying jump of 17 feet and 10 ¼ inches.

The world record belongs to Rosie the Ribeter with a jump of 21 feet and 5 ¾ inches.
