Copperopolis, CA — Calaveras officials have decided to outsource the completion of the Copperopolis Community Plan.
A committee spent 6 years working on the plan, which sets a template for how growth should take place in the Copperopolis area.
The Planning Department now has the document but doesn´t have the time to complete it because of short staffing.
That´s why the Board of Supervisors Monday agreed that hiring a consultant would be the best way to get the plan done in a timely manner.
The consultant will be paid $30,000 to $40,000 to clear up some density issues and address transportation needs.
Several developers showed up to the meeting to voice support for getting the plan done.
Once the plan is complete it will need an Environmental Impact Report, which could cost over $200,000.
