It’s Zero Tolerance Day

Sonora, CA — If you´re a driver on Highway 49 be aware it´s a Zero Tolerance Day today.

A number of law enforcement agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, will be canvassing Highway 49 from the Tuolumne County line to Interstate 80. They will be checking for speeders, those who follow traffic too closely and motorists who fail to “buckle up.”

Mike Maddox of the C.H.P. says Zero Tolerance Days are scheduled to make the public aware of its responsibility to drive safely. Maddox predicts that as many as 80 citations could be issued today on Highway 49.
