Snowfall Fails To Faze Calaveras Celtic Faire

Angels Camp, CA — It was business as usual at this weekend´s Calaveras Celtic Faire at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds.

Despite record snowfalls, plenty of enthused characters dressed in authenic garb braved the storm to celebrate the event´s 20th year. Faire Publicity Manager Marti Miernik estimated some 5,000 people turned out for the weekend event.

Amidst the music, food and inclement weather was athletic competition where cabers were tossed and hammers were thrown. The jousting tournaments and fire-eaters proved to be a favorite for the youngsters.
