County Association Sets Goals

Sacramento, CA — The California State Association of Counties board has set its goals for the coming year.

Representatives from each of the state´s 58 counties met last week to select the group´s legislative priorities.

The association represents the counties by lobbying for their priorities at both the state and federal levels.

A few of this year´s goals are protecting counties during the state budget process, meeting infrastructure needs and flood control.

The group will also advocate federally on issues involving Indian gaming, Medicaid and telecommunications reform.
