Sutter Creek Bypass Collapses

Sutter Creek, CA– A bypass being built in Sutter Creek to help with the overcrowding on Highway 49 has had a minor set back.

The bypass, scheduled to be completed by November 11th, collapsed Friday morning when one of the steel supports fell into the creek. According to officials, the material that has fallen into the creek could cause problems for a local sewage facility.

The reason for the collapse is still unknown, and no one was injured. Officials say they do not know if the collapse will set the completion date back yet.
