Sonora Man Fatally Injured In Kewin Mill Vehicle Accident

Jamestown, CA — A Sonora man is dead following a two vehicle accident that closed Kewin Mill Road for several hours yesterday.

CHP says 52-year-old Michael Neill was driving a Subaru Outback southbound at a high rate of speed just before 2:00 in the afternoon.

A report indicates that Neill´s car drifted across the center line and into the path of a flat-bed truck driven by 54-year-old Carolyn Marinovich of Sonora.

CHP says Marinovich took evasive action but was unable to a avoid the collision. After colliding with the truck, Neill´s car then left the road and hit a fence in front of the Belleview School.

Authorities say no children were involved or injured. Neill was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in Neill´s car, 45-year-old Christy Burkett of Twain Harte was treated and released at Tuolumne General Hospital. Marinovich was unhurt.

CHP says toxicology reports on Neill are pending.
