Board Of Supervisors Accept Addendum To TGH Report

Sonora, CA — The report outlining the possible fate of Tuolumne General Hospital is now final.

The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors has unanimously accepted an Addendum to the Lewin Group´s Final Report on alternative futures for TGH.

The board first saw the draft copy of the report November 15th. Since then the group conducted an extensive review of the financial analyses and projections and came up with some modifications and alternatives.

The document proposes three possible scenarios, including rebuilding the hospital and continue operating it as an acute care facility, turning it into a non-acute clinic or closing it down.

Each of those futures was further analyzed using the criteria of availability of services, cost to the public, cost to the county and the economic impact of each proposed scenario.

At next weeks meeting January 17th, the TGH Board of Trustees will present a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, followed by public comment.

The first meeting in February will consist of the County Administrator´s office presenting a recommendation to the board. That presentation will mark the start of the formal hearings to consider the options. The full report can be accessed at The Tuolumne County webpage.
