“Black Friday” Reminders From Sonora Police Department

Sonora, Ca — Many are heading out to local shopping outlets in hopes of landing some post Thanksgiving deals today.

“Unfortunately Christmas brings out some thieves,” says Lt. Mark Stinson with the Sonora Police Department. “We remind people to lock your cars when you are inside stores, and if you do buy gifts, make sure that they are out of sight so that people will not see them and break a window.”

Stinson notes that credit card theft is becoming more of a problem in Sonora. “You really want to be careful about who you give your credit card too, and make sure to get all receipts.”

Stinson also adds that you should keep an eye out when punching in pin numbers, so that no one else has knowledge of your secret codes.
