Valley Springs Teen Suffers Major Injuries On Hwy 26

San Andreas, CA — 18 year old Mystra Carlile of Valley Springs certainly learned her lesson the hard way; don´t be looking at your cell phone while driving.

Carlile was headed eastbound on Hwy 26 west of Nicholls Rd. late Thursday afternoon at approximately 55mph. According to the CHP report she diverted her attention from the roadway to look at her cellphone. Rather than following the roadway to the left, she proceeded to drive straight into a tree on shoulder of the road.

A small fire in the engine compartment was quickly extinguished by citizens. Carlile was then extricated from the vehicle by the Jaws Of Life. She was life-flighted to a Modesto hospital with major non-life threatening injuries.
