Reprieve Granted For Lake Commanche Mobile Home Residents

Oakland, CA — Lake Camanche mobile home residents received a reprieve from the East Bay Municipal Utility District Tuesday in Oakland.

According to News 10 in Sacramento more than 200 residents will be permitted to remain in their mobile homes.

In conjunction with the Mokelumne Watershed Master Plan, East Bay MUD had been considering the elimination of the mobile home parks as a way in which to protect water quality.

In addition to generating $400,000 a year for the utility district, studies have demonstrated that water quality has not been seriously compromised by the mobile home parks.

As a condition of non-eviction, East Bay MUD will now have control over any improvements residents may make on their mobile homes.
