San Andreas, CA — According to Captain Clay Hawkins of the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department, there are no immediate plans to open a cooling center or centers in the county.
Despite the triple digit temperatures, there has only been one call and that one regarded the need for fans for a senior citizen.
The Sheriff´s Department is monitoring calls to both its department and all medical calls. A determination would be made from those calls as to whether or not it would be prudent to open a cooling center.
