Stanislaus Fire Contained After Rapid Growth

Stanilaus County, CA — Once thought to be only 60 acres when contained, the Monday afternoon fire in Stanislaus County on Hwy 4 and Dunton Rd. actually grew to 220 acres before being contained.

Air Attack, a CAL FIRE helicopter, two tankers and at least eight engines, several water tenders and a number of hand crews fought the blaze which had consumed 220 acres by 2:30.

CAL FIRE is now in the mopup stage. No injuries or structural damage has been reported. Smoke was visible throughout much of the Mother Lode.
