Sonora, CA — The speed limit on Hwy 49 going in and out of north Sonora has been adjusted.
From Jack Page Rd. to Pesce Way, the speed limit is now 40 rather than 45 mph. Sonora PD Traffic Officer Jaemie Boeding says the decision was made by Caltrans based on the number of accidents in that area. The new speed limit signs have been put in place. She says the PD will not start enforcing the new limit until Wednesday.
