Group Proposes Transitional Housing At Twain Harte School

Twain Harte, CA — Wednesday evening, a brief presentation was made to the Twain Harte School Board by A-TCAA Housing Resources Director Beetle Barbour to utilize the lower building of Twain Harte School as apartments for working families.

It would be a form of transitional housing.

Twain Harte Superintendent Mike Brusa says he has serious concerns with the idea, and points out that it was notcooked up” by the district. Brusa adds that at this time A-TCAA does not have the resources to fulfill this proposal.

The idea was pitched as an alternative to closing Black Oak Elementary. The School Board has not voted to close Black Oak, however, it has been discussed as a possibility due to shrinking enrollments.
